Robert G. Murray

Robert “Bob” G. Murray of Waltham died unexpectedly on January 6, 2025. He was 72.

Bob was born in Weymouth and graduated from Weymouth High School with the class of 1970 and then attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute. In 1979, Bob embarked on a career change when he founded Northeast Computer Repair and then Printer Port, two small businesses in the early days of the microcomputer industry. Later in his career, Bob worked as Senior Systems Engineer for Enterasys and Indus River, and for IBM (Internet Security Systems) as a Senior Systems Architect. 

Bob was an avid mountain biker, motorcyclist, lover of music, and computer enthusiast who could take apart and rebuild almost anything. His family and friends knew him as someone they could depend on, who was good natured, and quick to lend a hand. Bob always had a story to tell and was a good friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. 

Beloved son of the late George L. Murray and Dorothy C. Murray of Weymouth, and brother of William Murray of Weymouth, Cheryl (& Jeff) DiCiaccio of Hopedale, and Patrick (& Monica) Murray of Jamaica Plain. Cherished partner of Glenn Barnes of Waltham. Adventurous uncle of Alyssa Bosse, Nicholas Murray, Joshua Murray and Jessi Murray, Acacia (& Wayne) Learned, Elizabeth DiCiaccio, and Michael DiCiaccio. Treasured nephew of Norma Doble of Weymouth.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 1/16/2025 from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday 1/17/2025 at 11 AM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home.
