Robert "Bobby" David Haugh, age 72, of Halifax, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on September 6, 2026, after which he was immediately surrounded by his daughter and loving family.

Born on April 6, 1954, in Quincy, Massachusetts, Bobby was the son of Irving C. Haugh and Barbara A. (Nilsen) Haugh. He grew up in Weymouth and graduated from Norfolk County Agricultural High School in 1972, where his lifelong love of nature, agriculture, and the outdoors first took root.

Bobby went on to build a successful career as a Heavy Equipment Operator and Foreman. As the owner and operator of his own landscaping and heavy equipment business for much of his life, he took great pride in his work and the lasting impact he made on the land and communities around him. He later joined Jeff Morse, Inc., where he worked as a Foreman and Equipment Operator for 25 years before retiring in 2025.

Above all else, Bobby was a devoted father. He raised his two daughters as a single parent, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. He embraced the roles of both mother and father, and the bond he shared with his girls was extraordinary. His daughters were the pride and joy of his life, and he never missed an opportunity to tell others how much he loved them.

Bobby had a deep appreciation for nature, music, animals, and family. During the summer months, Sundays were often spent at the family's camp in Myles Standish State Forest, surrounded by generations of his large Norwegian family. He found peace tending his impressive garden, hiking the mountains of New Hampshire, and, in recent years, exploring the woods with his loyal Labrador Retriever, Duke and spending time together in his backyard with his Nigerian Dwarf goats, Milly & Tilly (they were named by his mother) and his chickens. Whether caring for animals, cultivating his garden, or simply enjoying the beauty of the outdoors, Bobby felt most at home in nature.

He will be remembered for his strength, kind heart, gentle spirit, infectious sense of humor, and remarkable generosity. Bobby had a gift for storytelling and loved sharing family memories, keeping the stories and traditions of those he loved alive for future generations. His warmth, positivity, and ability to make everyone feel welcome left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Bobby is survived by his loving mother, Barbara A. Haugh; his daughters, Joy A. Haugh and Shelah U. Haugh; his grandson, Samuel R. Winston; and his cherished siblings and their spouses, Stephen and Julie Haugh, Douglas and Lisa Haugh, Ronald and Deborah Haugh, Lori (Haugh) and Bob Maynard, Wendy (Haugh) and Bob Gustafson, and David and Kristen Haugh and all of their children.

He was predeceased by his father, Irving C. Haugh.

Bobby often said that family was life's greatest blessing. As a proud Norwegian, he embodied the strength of a Viking, but those who knew him best understood that his greatest strength was his heart. He loved deeply, gave generously, and treasured every moment spent with his daughters, grandson, family, friends, and faithful companion Duke (Duke is now with Bobby’s nephew, Jonathon Haugh & family). His legacy is not found in the roads he built or the gardens he grew, but in the love, he leaves behind.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 24, 2026, at 3 PM, the Braintree Yacht Club, 9 Gordon Road, Braintree, Massachusetts, 02184.
