Burial
Robert E. Medico Sr., 76, of Naples, Florida, passed away on February 28, 2026.
Bobby was originally from South Boston, Massachusetts, where he graduated from South Boston High School. Bobby was a veteran of the Army, serving in Vietnam after which he continued his public service eventually retiring as a firefighter of the Boston Fire Department.
Beloved husband of Nancy Medico of Abington, Massachusetts, their relationship spanning the greater part of four decades. Loving father to Tara (Medico) Donovan and her husband Derek of Spencer, Massachusetts, Stacy Medico and her fiancé Adam Babiarz of Cotuit, Massachusetts, and Master Seargent (U.S. Army) Robert E. Medico, Jr. and his wife Julia of Kileen, Texas. Cherished Grampy to Kayleigh, Brenna, Jack Donovan, Gideon and Greyson Babiarz, Deja Mirra, and Ben Rose. Treasured stepfather to Robert Rose and his wife Kelly, and Molly Rose. Dedicated son of the late Ciro and Anna (Oliver) Medico. Dear brother of the late Anne Foley and her husband Tom, Paul Medico and his wife Marian, and Jean Gillett and her husband Casey. Bobby is survived by his many nieces and nephews.
Bobby was an avid golfer who fulfilled his lifelong dream by retiring to Foxfire Golf & Country Club. His family was his greatest joy; this joy magnified with the birth of each grandchild. Nothing made him prouder than being their Grampy. Just as important to him were his many friends who knew him as “Mr. Wonderful”. All who knew him would describe him as outgoing, loyal, generous, dependable, kind, and always eager to lend a helping hand. You were instantly drawn to his contagious smile and gift of gab, just ask his brothers in the Boston Fire Department or fellow golfers. He found joy in an afternoon of cards, a bit of luck, and good company. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him, whether family, friend, or passing acquaintance.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday, April 12, 2026 from 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Funeral service will be celebrated on Monday, April 13, 2026 at 10 AM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home. Bobby will be laid to rest in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne following the funeral service at 12:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bobby may be made to Boston Firefighters Burn Foundation, 55 Hallet St, Dorchester, MA 02124.
