Mr. Robert F. O’Connor, Jr. of Weymouth, passed away on August 5, 2026 after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was 77.
Born in Weymouth, a son of the late Robert and Claire (McDonough) O’Connor, Bob was a proud lifelong resident of Weymouth.
Bob was a Vietnam War Combat veteran serving with the United States Marines. He was an employee for the Town of Weymouth starting out as a laborer and ending his 43 years of service as Director of Public Works retiring in 2011. Bob then began working part-time as the Energy Coordinator for the Town, until the time of his death.
Family was everything to Bob and just loved being around them especially his three beautiful grandaughters. He was incredibly proud of them and could be found wherever they were, from hockey rinks to dance recitals. Bob enjoyed playing keno, doing crossword puzzles and going out weekly with his beloved wife having a cold Coors Light or even a manhattan. Bob also loved taking trips with his loving wife and friends of over 60 years. He will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Loving father of Stephen R. O’Connor and his wife, Joanna, Lisa M. Campanella and her husband Bret, and Michael R. O’Connor all of Weymouth.
Brother of Maureen West of Chandler, AZ, Janet Carvalho of Marshfield, William O’Connor and his wife, Janice of Hanson, Brian O’Connor and his wife, Karen of Milford, CT.
Cherished Grampa to Arianna, Alyssa, and Amanda. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 8/10/2026 from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday 8/11/2026 in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM
Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
