Cavallaro, Robert P. “Bobby” of Beverly, died December 3, 2023.
Bobby was a loving husband and step father. He was also a proud member of IBEW Local 103 and worked as an electrician for many years, more recently as a foreman. He was an involved union activist who stood on many picket lines supporting workers, a member of Boston DSA and former member and co-founder of RI Socialists, among other organizations. He played drums in a band as a teenager and into his 20’s, and majored in music at The University of Rhode Island. He was also proud of his Italian and Irish heritage. He loved animals especially his beloved deceased cat Maggie, his deceased pet rats, and the family cat he had with his wife and step-daughter, Reese’s. He was a great cook often making fish and chicken dishes for his family, and his favorite snacks were oysters, and hot stuffed cherry peppers. Bobby cared about his family and friends and fought to build community that supported disadvantaged people. He had a great sense of humor and had a skill for impressions. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Loving husband of Amy Lynn Banelis of Beverly and stepfather of Ashley Hanlon. Cherished son of Robert A. Cavallaro and Michelle Brousseau, both of RI, and stepson of Mary Primiano. Devoted brother of Jennifer Goulet and her husband Michael of RI, Alexandra Cavallaro of CA, and Annalee Cavallaro of RI. Loving uncle of Connor, Noah, and Aiden Goulet. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday December 19th from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Funeral home service will be celebrated on Wednesday December 20th at 11 AM. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bobby may be made to Labor Notes, Cat Lady Tails, Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue, or to Mayday Pit Bull Rescue & Advocacy.
