In Loving Memory of Robert Renaud

1930 – 2025

It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Robert Renaud, who died peacefully at home on Monday August 25th, holding the hand of his beloved wife, Diane—just as he wished. He was 95 years old.

Born in 1930 in Fall River, Massachusetts, Robert grew up during the hardships of the Great Depression and came of age during World War II. As a young man, he proudly served his country as an Air Force mechanic during the Korean War, stationed in France, where he was joined by Diane. Their life together spanned 75 devoted years, marked by love, adventure, and resilience.

An engineer by profession, Robert’s sharp mind and quiet determination were matched only by his skillful hands. A gifted woodworker and devoted gardener, he found joy in creating beauty and order from raw materials and soil alike. He approached everything he did with a capable presence—a true “can-do” man in every sense.

Robert and Diane lived in various parts of the country before settling in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Together, they raised three children: Michelle Painter, Edward Renaud, and Susan Renaud. Robert also played an essential role in the lives of his seven grandchildren Christina, Holly-Beth, Andrew, Briar, Rae, Christian, and Micheal. He also had the opportunity to love his five great-grandchildren.

He will be remembered for his strength, unwavering dedication to family, and the steady guidance he provided throughout his long and meaningful life. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the things he built, and the many lives he touched.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday, September 2nd from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A private family burial service will be held in his honor.
