Robert Paul Shaw

Robert Paul Shaw passed away peacefully on Friday, October 17, 2025. He was 81.

He was born in Roxbury to Margaret (Barnette) and Thomas Shaw and raised in West Roxbury. At 18 his family moved to South Boston, where he graduated from the Gavin School. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the army and served for 3 years. Shortly after his enlistment, Bob earned a truck driving position with Local 25 and was a proud union member for over 20 years. When he retired, he worked security with State Street in Quincy for 10 years.

Bob met the love of his life, Annette (Falzone), through his sister-in-law, and they were married not long after. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising three children who became the center of Bob’s world. Family was everything to him. In the later years of his life, Bob embraced his role as a grandfather with joy and deep affection. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren.

Bob and Annette shared a love for adventure and tradition, taking memorable annual trips to Las Vegas and hosting beloved family card nights that brought everyone together. A proud Boston sports fan, Bob was a devoted supporter of the Red Sox and Patriots, never missing a chance to cheer them on. Those who knew Bob will remember his warmth, charm, and unwavering love for his family. He was truly one of a kind, lovable, generous, and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Beloved husband of 59 years to Annette Shaw (Falzone) of Quincy. Devoted father to Suzanne Shaw Gonzales and her husband Lou of Quincy, Sharon Shaw of Quincy, and Bob Shaw and his wife Shannon of Long Island, NY. Adoring grandfather to Raymond McGrory, Anthony, Alyssa and Dominic Gonzales, Andrew, Ella and Connor Shaw. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Margaret (Barnette) and Thomas Shaw and his siblings, Billy Shaw, Catherine Shaw Vengren, Doris Shaw Outerbridge, Thomas Shaw, John Shaw, and Margaret Shaw.

A private graveside service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s name may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Ste 1509, New York, NY 10018.
