Roderick Stuart “Rod” “Roddy” Forrester III, of Hanover, formerly of Weymouth, died peacefully, after a lengthy illness, on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was 52.

Rod was born in Weymouth on September 19, 1973. Raised in Weymouth, Rod attended local schools and graduated from Weymouth High School. After graduation, Rod went on to work as a carpet installer, a trade he learned and enjoyed. He later made his home in Hanover, where he spent much of his adult life.

As a young man, Rod had a deep love for baseball, a passion that brought him great joy and created cherished memories that would last a lifetime. His father fondly recalls taking Rod to baseball games, moments filled with laughter, excitement, and connection. Those early years were also marked by special family vacations, including trips to Disney World, memories of a young family enjoying time together that are remembered with joy.

Rod enjoyed fishing and he passed that along to his son, Ryan. He loved the times he brought Ryan to get together with his cousins to play and do fun things. Rod was a devoted Patriots fan, enjoyed listening to rock music, and was known for his kind nature and good heart. He had a wonderful sense of humor and an easy way of bringing smiles to those around him. His warmth and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Rod was a cherished son of Roderick Stuart Forrester II and Jane Marie (Snow) Forrester of Belleview, Florida. He was preceded in death by his biological mother, Gayle Lee (Turner) Forrester. Rod was the longtime partner of Jessica Whalen and the devoted father of their son, Ryan Forrester, both of Hanover. Rod was the dear brother of Rebecca Willis and her husband Marek of Belleview, Florida, and Dawn Garvey and her husband Brendan of Weymouth. He was the loving uncle of Alyssa Benjamin and her husband Kevin of Weymouth and Dylan Garvey and his partner Andria Toye of Braintree. The loving great uncle of Kaleb, Alana, Amiyah, and Aria Benjamin, all of Weymouth. Rod is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Following cremation, a celebration of life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember Rod.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Rod's name to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, PO BOX 2373, Belleview, FL, 34421.
