Ronald Hugo “Ronnie” Oriola, of Rockland, formerly of Canton, Braintree, and Quincy, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was 83.

Ronnie was born in Quincy on April 23, 1943, and was the son of the late Hugo Francis and Lee (Moscone) Oriola. He was raised in North Quincy, attended local schools, and graduated from the Quincy Vocational Technical High School.

Ronnie built a proud career as a Sheet Metal Worker with Local 17 and carried that same craftsman's pride into every corner of his life. He married the love of his life, Karen E. Stub, at St. Jerome's Church in North Weymouth on June 12, 1965, the beginning of a life they built with care and intention. Karen was the center of his universe and always the focus of everything he did.

Ronnie’s passion for his family and faith were the pillars that guided him throughout his life. He was always there, caring for others and taking care of whomever was in need. He gained his greatest satisfaction from ensuring everything was taken care of for his family.

His three daughters were the joys of his life and he was always present at grandkids games and events supporting and cheering them on. His eight grandchildren and two great- grandchildren loved their “Grampy”. He loved to make them laugh or just get a smile with his infamous “dad jokes”. He had a special relationship with all his grandchildren and has impacted them for a lifetime.

Ronnie also enjoyed working and tinkering around the house. He loved cars and prided himself on taking care of them all himself. He also loved caring for his yard and ensuring his garage was immaculate. Ronnie kept every part of life very well organized and taken care of. According to Ronnie , "Every thing has a place, and every place has a thing." He meant it, and he lived it.

When he wasn't working with his hands, Ronnie could be found reading a good book or newspaper or watching his beloved Bruins, Red Sox or Patriots. He loved to play cribbage with family and friends and always tried to make people laugh and ensure the crowd was having a good time.

Ronnie loved to travel with Karen and he saw the world with curiosity and enthusiasm. Ronnie and Karen traveled everywhere from Aruba to Alaska but Italy, Rome, Sorrento, Capri, and the breathtaking Amalfi Coast, were always his favorites.

Ronnie was the beloved husband of Karen Elizabeth (Stub) Oriola of Rockland. He was the father of Deborah Lavigne and her husband David of Dudley, Lauren Dalton and her husband Michael of Easton, and Cynthia Enright and her husband Ryan of Hingham. Ronnie was the loving grandfather of eight and the loving great grandfather of two. He was the dear brother in law of Lyn Finn and her husband John of Marstons Mills, Roban Hickey and her husband Rich of Rockland and nephew in law of Sally Burton and her late husband Bill of Pembroke, Ronnie is also survived by many loving extended family members and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Route 18 opposite of South Shore Hospital).
