Rosemarie E. (Duncan) Fernandes “Grandma Dynamite” of Quincy, died on Sept. 23, 2026. Rosemarie lived a full life of laughter and love. She held the hands and cared for many children beginning with her own four younger siblings. Later, she raised her own children, grandchildren and many others. Her work life was always to help others. She worked at Boston City Hospital - Dowling 1 in the 1970’s and 80’s. She worked as a security guard and aide for challenged children, her role was she getting them to and from school safely. She loved her job. Her heart was huge. Her forever smile was infectious. She was famous for her original comedic one liners that were hilarious. Rosemarie did alot for many with very little. Family and friends stopped by daily over the years to have coffee, tea and a bite to eat and just chat with her. Even in her last week on earth, she made others laugh and smile. God has our treasured Rosemarie with him, we can find peace through this faith. She will always be remembered with joy and dearly missed. She will live on in our hearts forever.



Rosemarie was the beloved wife of the late Gerald “Jerry” Fernandes. Daughter of the late Robert B. Duncan and Mary M. (Guerard) Duncan. Loving mother Of Robert Fernandes and his partner Deborah of Waltham. Geraldine Fernandes of Brighton and Brian Fernandes of Quincy. Cherished sister of Denise Duncan Jeffords and her husband Paul of Clearwater ,FL and the late William Duncan, Christine Harrington, Michele Duncan.and her BFF Annie Elliot who loving cared for her and her special sister Lynn Stefano. Devoted grandmother of Anthony,Jerry, Marquis, Tyrrell, Domonica, William and many more. Rosemarie is also survived by many great grandchildren. Loving Aunt of Paul Parnell, Denise Parnell Woolfe and her husband Darren, William Parnell and his wife Vickie and many other nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026 from 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Oct. 7th in St. John’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy, MA.
