Rosemary L. (Taylor) Allison, of Weymouth, formerly of Braintree and Osterville, died peacefully at her daughter's home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was 91.
Rosemary was born in Weymouth on July 10, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Richard Lee and Cathleen I. (Olden) Taylor. She was raised in Weymouth and attended Sacred Heart Elementary and High School.
Rosemary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, whose greatest joy and purpose in life was loving and caring for her family and those she loved.
Born with a spirit as vibrant as the flowers she lovingly tended in her garden, Rosemary's heart was rooted in her home. She dedicated her life to raising her children and later, helping to raise her grandchildren - her pride, and her joy. A doting mother and grandmother, she was always the heart of every gathering, bringing warmth and laughter wherever she went.
Married for an extraordinary 69 years to her beloved husband, Rolly, their story began on January 2, 1956, at Sacred Heart Church in Weymouth, followed by a joyful reception at the South Shore Country Club in Hingham. Their love was the kind most only dream of—steadfast, selfless, and full of friendship. Together they traveled the country and beyond, always side by side, always each other’s constant.
Rosemary had an adventurous spirit. She loved traveling, especially cruising the open seas, and spending her summers camping—her favorite pastime. Nothing brought her more joy than entertaining her family, especially during the holidays and summer days by her pool. Her home was the gathering place, filled with food, laughter, love, and blue cookies.
Known for her playful sense of humor and tough-as-nails resilience, Rosemary had a unique ability to lift spirits and make others feel seen and loved. She was selfless to her core, always putting the happiness of those around her before her own.
She had a deep love for music, especially the stirring voice of Andrea Bocelli, whose songs brought her peace and joy.
Rosemary leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion. Her children and grandchildren carry forward the values she lived by compassion, humor, grit, and boundless love. She was endlessly proud of them and never missed a chance to celebrate their accomplishments.
She was truly one of a kind, and she will be deeply missed.
Rosemary was the beloved wife of the late Roland W. "Rolly" Allison, who died in November 2024. She was the devoted mother of Mark Allison and his wife Donna of Braintree, Peter Allison of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Nancy Allison-Slater and her husband Michael of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and the late Paul Allison.
