Mrs. Sandra A. (DePari) Kilgallen of Hanover, formerly of Abington, died March 13, 2024.
Sandra (Sandie) was born and raised in Weymouth to the late Ralph and Nancy DePari. She attended Weymouth High School, and also obtained a BSN from Northeastern University and an M.Ed from Lesley College. Sandie’s professional career was focused on caring for others. She worked for many years as a nurse at South Shore Hospital and with the Visiting Nurse Association before transitioning into a career as a diabetes educator at Joslin Diabetes Center and New England Sinai Hospital. Outside of work, Sandie was a devout Catholic and enjoyed attending mass every Sunday at Saint Bridget Parish with her husband Paul. She loved to listen to music and was an avid dancer. Sandie was a long-time resident of Abington, and was a regular at Timber Lanes for the candlepin bowling league with friends and in warmer weather on the pickleball courts at the Senior Center. At home, she loved riding her bike and chatting with her many long-time neighborhood friends. The Red Sox and Patriots were near and dear to her heart, and summer nights were often spent watching her beloved Red Sox on TV, while in the fall she could often be found attending Patriots games. After the passing of her husband Paul, she was inseparable from her loyal four-legged friend Taffy. Sandie was a kind and gentle soul with many life-long friends, and enjoyed making others smile. She loved being a grandmother, and her grandchildren were a constant source of pride and joy, and brought her the biggest smiles. Sandie’s family meant the world to her and they will miss her dearly.
Beloved wife of 51 years to the late Paul J. Kilgallen. Loving mother of Brian Kilgallen and his wife, Teresa, of North Carolina and Michelle Kallio of Taunton. Proud grandmother of 6 grandchildren: Ryan, Emily, Sarah, Kathryn, Matthew, and Anna. Beloved sister of Gary DePari and his late wife, Paula, of Weymouth and the late Stephen DePari, Gregory DePari and his surviving wife, Jan, of Middleboro. Sister in law of Francis Kilgallen and wife Frances of Peabody, and the late Robert Kilgallen and his surviving wife Chris Kilgallen of Plymouth. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
