Sally Enright, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on September 24, 2026. Born and raised in Asbury Park, New Jersey, Sally had a wonderful childhood that she remembered with great affection. She loved biking around town, spending time on the boardwalk, and being at the Jersey Shore. Those early years gave her a lifelong appreciation for the simple pleasures of a place, a memory, and the people who made it home.

Sally was deeply curious about the world and, especially, about other people. She could draw almost anyone into conversation, asking questions and genuinely wanting to know their stories. People felt interesting to Sally because, to her, they were.

She also loved to laugh. Sally had a wonderful sense of humor and a warmth that put people at ease. Her intelligence was matched by her kindness, and she had a gift for making people feel welcome and valued.

Over the years, Sally and her family lived in New Jersey, Maine, Texas, Illinois, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. Sally loved moving because each new place offered another opportunity to discover something new, meet people, and make friends. Wherever she lived, she formed connections and made a place feel like home.

In Illinois, Sally worked for many years as a reference librarian in Bloomington, a role that suited her intelligence, curiosity, and desire to help others. She enjoyed finding answers and perhaps even more, the process of discovering them.

For 47 years she shared her life with her husband, Donald Robert Koehn (deceased). She is survived by her daughter Alice (Koehn Benson) and son-in-law Tom, her son Geoff, and daughter Nancy, as well as four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her family was one of the great joys of her life, and her love for them was enduring and unconditional.

In recent years, Sally lived at Rose Court at Linden Ponds in Hingham, Massachusetts. Sally’s family is deeply grateful to the many caregivers and staff who cared for Sally with kindness, dignity, patience, and affection. Sally was beloved there, and her family will always be grateful for not only the care she received but the relationships she formed.

Sally’s life was rich with adventures, friendships, laughter, and love. With her open mind, generous heart, and genuine interest in others, she made the world around her a little warmer simply by being in it.

She will be deeply missed by her family, her many friends, and all who had the good fortune to know her.
