Savino John
Giannone
August 28, 1938 – April 21, 2026
Savino John Giannone, of Braintree, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was 87.
Savino was born in Hingham on August 28, 1938, and was the son of the late Domenic and Francesca (DiStasio) Gianonne. He graduated from Hingham High School and went on to build his career in the printing industry. Savino worked for many years at Intercity Press and later at Graphic Services in Rockland, where he was known for his strong work ethic and kindness. He retired in 1998.
Outside of his work, Savino found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. He had a love for pottery and needlepoint, expressing his creativity through his hands. He also had a deep affection for animals of all kinds, treating every living being with kindness and compassion.
To know Savino was to experience true gentleness. He was a beautiful person. Kind spirited, polite to everyone he met, and full of a quiet, welcoming energy. A free-flowing spirit, Savino embraced life and all who crossed his path with grace and peace. He carried himself as a true gentleman, offering warmth without expectation and love without condition.
Savino was, simply put, love.
Savino was preceded in death by his siblings, Anthony Gianonne and Domenic Gianonne Jr. He is survived by his dear and devoted friends, Deborah M. Heger of Randolph, William T. Mansfield of Rockland, and James Rourke of Quincy.
Savino will be interred privately in St. Paul's Cemetery, Hingham.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Savino's name to New England Center and Home for Veterans, 17 Court Street, Boston, MA 02108 by visiting: www.nechv.org.
