Scott G. Cresswell

CRESSWELL, Scott, 72, of Rockland, passed away peacefully at his home on August 26, 2025, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on June 6, 1953, to Norman and Louise Cresswell, he spent much of his life in Braintree and built a fulfilling career as a perfectionist carpenter, successful business owner, livery driver, and—most proudly—Facilities Manager at Channel WB56.

Scott was known for his endless generosity and kind heart, always ready to give the shirt off his back. He had a gift for laughter and loved making others smile; his humor and warmth brought light to everyone around him. His quiet strength, love for family, and ability to find joy in life’s simplest moments made him cherished by all who knew him. His greatest pride was in his family and in the many friendships he nurtured throughout his life—most notably with his childhood crew, his coworkers, and his neighbors.

Scott filled his days with simple pleasures—Muffin Fridays at the Rockland Senior Center, a game of Words With Friends, or an episode of Judge Judy. He’ll be remembered for spoiling his grandkids with candy and gifts, his legendary bargain-hunting and ever-growing shoe collection, his love of popcorn and Chinese food, and his habit of greeting everyone with a hug and a kiss.

Above all, his daughters will miss his check-in calls, his well-loved thumbs-up emoji replies, and, most of all, hearing him remind them—again and again—how proud he was of them and how deeply he loved them.

He is survived by his two daughters, Lauren Foundas and her husband Jamie, and their three children, Nicholas, JJ, and Ryan; and Sarah Thomas and her husband David, and their two children, Michael and Daniel. He is also survived by his brother, Bruce Cresswell and his wife Kati, his adored niece Erin Morton, and his nephews Jason Cresswell, and Nick and Andrew Lemieux.

Scott was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Deborah Cresswell, with whom he shared many years of love and devotion, as well as his loyal sidekick and four-legged best friend, Pal; his former sister-in-law, Helen Cresswell; and his dearly missed nephew, Jon Cresswell.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday 9/2/2025 from 10AM-12 Noon in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital), a funeral service will follow beginning at 12 Noon in the funeral home. Burial Holy Family Cemetery, Rockland.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Robert J. Nyman Rockland Senior Center, a place where Scott made many great friends and unforgettable memories.

Scott will be remembered always for his selflessness, humor, warmth, and unconditional love. His spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

We love you, Dad, and will miss you always—“sweet dreams and see you in the morning.”
