Sharon M. Collins

Sharon, a truly irreplaceable soul, has passed away, leaving a profound void in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was consistently described by her countless friends and loved ones as the most caring, sweetest, and kindest person, her radiant smile a perpetual source of joy. Her comforting and unwavering daily presence will be deeply missed, and the world truly will not be the same without her.

In her early career, Sharon dedicated her skills to Brady's Enterprises & Stoksy’s Egg House. Her entrepreneurial spirit later led her to establish "Sharon's Cleaning Service" alongside her beloved late husband, Larry. The business quickly flourished, a testament to her unwavering dedication and tireless work ethic. For many years, Sharon and Larry skillfully balanced demanding overnight cleaning shifts at AT&T stores, Family Haircare Salons, J.L. Hammet Co, and various local restaurants, all while diligently maintaining their day jobs and selflessly caring for their family. Sharon was frequently lauded as the hardest-working individual, a title she embodied with grace and unwavering commitment.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Sharon's thriving business allowed her to generously sponsor local sports teams and contribute significantly to the community she cherished. Her deep connection to Weymouth earned her the affectionate title of its unofficial "mayor." She knew everyone, and countless individuals often expressed how blessed they felt just to encounter her and exchange a warm greeting. Sharon's boundless spirit and genuine warmth touched innumerable lives, and her absence will be profoundly felt by so many, a testament to the extraordinary impact she had on her community and beyond.

The Venetian restaurant held a special place in Sharon's heart. For over 35 years, she worked there as a waitress when she wasn't engaged in her cleaning service. She developed an unbreakable bond with the original owners, the Pica family, and her coworkers whom she considered extended family. After an ownership shift, she embraced her new friendships and continued to dine there several nights a week as their guest, sharing a meal with Chef Paul, Karen and various employees and friends. A day wasn't truly complete without a visit to the Venetian, whether to clean or to share a meal.

She found great joy in many traditions: She loved holidays and always looked forward to seeing her nephew Etienne at Christmas and hearing his captivating stories about his work, golf and travels. She cherished Friday nights at the Eagles club with childhood friends and her daughters, and spent most weeknights with the "pool girls" at the Weymouth Club for water aerobics. For over 50 years, Saturdays were reserved for lunch with family, her godfather Jimmy, and close friends. While the venue changed over time, for many recent years, they enjoyed lunch at Jimmy’s Diner. She also made a daily stop at the "gas station" to play her numbers, often encountering so many friends that she would stay and enjoy her coffee there. And of course, Sharon loved to take a special trip to the casino now and again. She was the happiest “loser" you could ever know!

Sharon’s greatest joy was her family; she was a devoted mother, grandmother & “dog mom.” She cherished her bond with her dog Cody, and enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren Calvin & Reese every Monday and Friday where she'd greet them with their do do's (donuts). She was so proud of her grandchildren Kaitlyn & Jacqueline and she never stopped talking about her newest addition, little Michael and how adorable he is. She enriched her children and grandchildren’s lives with patience, wisdom, support, abundant generosity, and boundless love. Her love was evident in every glance, every hug, and every sacrifice she made. She was truly “one of a kind.”

She is survived by her children, Lisa Collins and her partner John Pagliaro of Weymouth, Sherri Collins and her partner Thomas Taylor of Weymouth, James Collins of Weymouth, and Michael Collins and his wife Jenna Collins of Holbrook. She also leaves behind her late twin sister’s daughters, Shara Fillmore, Michelle Tilton and Shannon Hinds, whom she considered her own. She was “Gram” to her grandchildren Kaitlyn Curry and her husband Christopher Curry of Weymouth, Jacqueline Richardson of Weymouth and Michael Collins Jr. of Holbrook, as well as “Gram / G” to her two great grandchildren Calvin Curry & Reese Curry. Her brothers, Steven Bourgoin and his wife Trish Bourgoin, Dennis Bourgoin and Kevin Bourgoin. She is predeceased by her late husband Laurence Collins, her mother Myrtle Bourgoin and father Dominic Bourgoin, sister Cheryl Bourgoin, and brother David Bourgoin and grandson Brian McDonald Jr. She will also be missed by so many cousins, in-laws, nieces & nephews.
