Sheila Heather McLain Seery, born December 19, 1968, passed away surrounded by her loving family in her home in Tucson, AZ, after a courageous battle with breast cancer on September 20th 2025.
Born in Westford, MA formerly of Weymouth, MA and Carver, MA.
Sheila is survived by her loving husband Thomas P. Seery and their three beautiful sons, Timothy S. O'Malley Jr. Gregory T. Seery and Kieran T. Seery.
Sheila was a graduate of Westford Academy 87', a Nationally Registered Paramedic, and a licensed Animal Control Officer and Animal Inspector for the state of Massachusetts.
Sheila worked as an EMT/Paramedic in and around Boston, Metro Boston, and the South Shore for 10 years for Brewster/AMR where she met her husband of 25 years, Thomas Seery.
Sheila's love of animals directed her passion and she became Animal Control Officer for the Town of Carver, where her and Tom lived for 17 years. Sheila built, established and ran the Animal Control Department for the rural Town of Carver. Regularly chasing dogs, cats, horses, even Ilamas and a wallaby were regular duties, as well as keeping the population of rabid raccoons and skunks in check.
A disabling back injury on the job led Sheila to an early retirement and she and her family relocated to the warmth of Tucson, AZ. Sheila's love for animals always included a myriad of dogs, cats, birds, horses, chickens, turkeys, goats and even an 80lb Sulcatta tortoise.
Sheila had many passions, first and foremost was raising her three beautiful boys. She loved spending beach days with them in Weymouth, Duxbury, Plymouth and Cape Cod. A huge love was spending time in the pools of low tide always searching for a variety of creatures and teaching her boys about ocean life. if not at the beach, Sheila could be found poolside, soaking up the sun and enjoying family time with her husband and sons in the pool. When not at the beach or poolside with her family, she was sideline or in the stands supporting her son's in their perspective sports whether it be football, basketball, or baseball.
Nightimes were often spent having family movie nights, especially during cold winter they were fireside! Sheila's other passions were baking and plants. She had an incredible talent for making desserts, cookies, cakes, and pies, always expanding receipes with spice and flavor! Sheila's other hobbies included a green thumb for plants and flowers. She loved decorating the houses with annuals and perineals, the rarer the better and the more colorful. Moving to Tucson, Sheila developed a keen interest for cacti, succulants and exotic flowers.
Sheila had the heart of a warrior and always a fierce determination for success in whatever endeavor she took on. Plagued by disability for years and then faced with stage three TNBC cancer, she was always an example of courage, strength, fierce determination, humor and love for her family, even in the face of unsurmountable odds. She passed from this earthly world at home surrounded by her loved ones and is finally at peace.
