Sheryl Shanley 78 of Easton, MA died peacefully after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia on June 26, 2024. Sheryl was born in Boston and grew up in Holbrook MA. She graduated from Holbrook High and following that started a career at John Hancock. Sheryl married shortly thereafter and began raising her family. She loved being a mom and running a household. Sheryl was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She loved her family fiercely, and wanted nothing more than to be part of family events and celebrations. Sheryl loved to cook; food was her love language. One of her favorite things to do was to make dinner for her family. She also loved a good story, a great steak dinner and her salt water taffy. Sheryl enjoyed her shows and crocheting blankets and gifts for those she loved. She leaves her family with a legacy of how to love unconditionally.
Sheryl had a few different roles during her life, but the ones she treasured most were as grandmother to her 6 grandchildren and as a preschool teacher. Sheryl spent many years as a well loved preschool and pre-Kindergarten teacher at Easton Learning Adventures in Easton. She had a kindness and patience with children that was second to none.
Sheryl was preceded in death by her father Leonard and mother Norma (Solov) Minden. She is survived by her 3 children and their spouses, Kim (Shanley) Peretti and her husband Bob of Easton MA, Jennifer (Shanley) Donovan and her husband David of Scituate, and Scott Shanley and his wife Kelli of Marshfield. She also leaves behind 6 devoted grandchildren, Olivia Peretti, Luke Peretti, Michael Shanley, Addison Donovan, Keelin Shanley and Aiden Shanley. She is also survived by her partner Jack Rice. Sheryl was surrounded and loved in life by a large extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews. All of whom will miss her.
