Waters, Shirley B. (Tammi) of Hingham, July 30, 2008 after suffering from Alzheimers Disease. Beloved wife of Raymond P. Waters. Loving mother of Carla Waters of Scottsdale, AZ Peter Waters of Hingham. Daughter of the late Hazel (Anderson) and Carl Tammi. Sister of June Tammi, Louise Hamilton, both of Kingston, Carl Tammi of Sandwich, Victor Tammi, and the late Sylvia Gutting. Aunt of Barry Gutting of Rockland, John Hamilton of Somerville, Erich Hamilton of Millis, Arthur Gutting, Naval Air Force, Ericka Oelmann of Long Beach, CA, and Karen Tammi of Little Compton, RI. Sister in law of Marcia Caregeorges of Albuquerque, NM. Cousin of Dianee Cushing of Gardner. Shirley graduated from Dorchester High School, the Art Institute in Chicago, IL, Boston State College, Curry College and Bridgewater State University. She worked as a special needs teacher at the Pilgrim Center in Braintree, an art teacher for Hingham Public Schools Evening Division, and as a substitute teacher in Hingham, Quincy, Weymouth and Cohasset. A very active person, Shirly enjoyed tennis (she had been the New England Senior Womans Doubles Champion), swimming, cross country skiing, jogging and walking her dog. Shirley was also an accomplished painter. She will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the memorial visiting hours in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM Monday 3-7 PM. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Old Ship Church, Hingham. Donations in Shirley’s memory may be made to the Alzheimers Assn., MA Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
