Shirley Morse Breen died peacefully in Plymouth MA, October 7, 2016, where she had been lovingly cared for several years in the home of her daughter Nancy and her partner Bob Huffmaster.
Born in Quincy, she was a resident of Weymouth MA for 60 years. She took great pride in her home and loved to cook for her friends and family. She hosted innumerable family dinners which have become cherished memories for her children, their partners and especially her grandchildren. She made an awesome chicken pie!
The love of her life was Bernard Breen who pre deceased her. Their steadfast and happy marriage of 62 years was a joy to see and an inspiration to many. They enjoyed family, home, friends, music of all kinds and dancing. Whenever they could, they joined their “gang” of friends to listen to the Hi-Hats and dance the night away.
She enjoyed her work and friends at Howard Johnson offices in Braintree and at Quincy Mutual Insurance. She was an avid Patriots fan and was a great admirer of Coach Parcells and Tom Brady.
She leaves behind her children Frank Breen and his wife Judi of Portsmouth NH, Carol Breen and her husband Steven Castagnoli of Hood River, OR, Nancy Dooley and her partner Robert Huffmaster of Plymouth MA and Sally Brady and her husband Paul of Worcester MA. She will be missed by her sister Barbara Stier, her brother in law and his wife, Russell and Paula Breen and her sister in law Nancy. Breen.Shirley was predeceased by her brothers Gordon and Robert Morse.
The lives of her grandchildren Michael and Elizabeth Breen, Jarrod and Ryan Dooley, Jillian and Finn Brady, and Teare Messino, were greatly enriched by her love and care. She is also survived by her great granddaughter, Stella Breen.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square). A Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square). A burial will follow in Old North Cemetery, North Weymouth, MA.
She leaves behind her friends and caregivers at Memory Lane in Plymouth MA where she spent many happy days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a fund for her grandson, Finn Brady, in c /o of Judi Breen, 121 Bow St, Unit 4, Portsmouth NH 03801.
