Shirley A. Heeney, of Rockland, formerly of Hyde Park and Quincy, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 28, 2025. She was 94.
Shirley was happiest always being around those she loved. She enjoyed being the one singing at a family gathering, being around her family, spending time with her beloved, Shi Shi, and raising a glass of Bailey’s. Shirley will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Born in Roslindale, a daughter of the late William and Anna (Brett) Heeney, she had lived in Hyde Park for many years before living in Quincy and most recently in Rockland.
Shirley was the sister of the late Lorraine O’Toole and her late husband, John, the late Jacquelyn Glavin and her late husband, William, the late William Heeney and his surviving wife, Beverly, of Marshfield.
Beloved aunt to Debra Astrofsky, Sheryl O’Toole, and Darlene Clements all of Dorchester, and the late Bonnie Davenport.
Shirley is also survived by many other loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, as well as her special and much loved dog, Shi Shi.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday 8/3/2025 from 3-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Monday 8/4/2025 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, 234 Pleasant Street, Weymouth at 10 AM.
Burial will follow Shirley’s Funeral Mass at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester
