Stanley A. (Butchie) Molignano, 71, passed away peacefully at home in the company of his beloved extended family, on Saturday evening 7/19/25.
Born in Weymouth, Stan attended Weymouth schools graduating from Weymouth H.S. in 1971 before attending Lowell Tech College, (Precursor to U-Mass, Lowell). A graduate of 1975, he spent his entire career in the insurance industry starting with Metropolitan Insurance and the last 20+ years as a partner in the firm Tobman, Weiner, & Molignano. He managed this successful firm with his business partner for many years before retiring in 2023.
Stan spent his adult years in Hanover, weekends & summers when possible in Mashpee & Falmouth, and moved back to Weymouth during his later years. His zest for life was second to none.
His passion for life was evident in the many friendships he made over the years. His love of family & friends went hand in hand with his enjoyment of sharing the excitement of sports with both. He loved all the Boston sports teams so much so, that he had recreated a version of the “Green Monster” painted on the back wall of his “GarBar”. A local watering hole where his neighbors, family & friends would often congregate for the evening nightcap, sports event, weekend golf tournaments or to track the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins or Celtic’s latest playoff runs.
An avid boater from childhood, Stan also loved tennis as well golf and skiing. Many of his most cherished memories are the trips taken with friends & family centered on tennis, skiing, golf, boating or some combination. He loved socializing his entire life, thriving when sharing the company of others, and creating memories lasting a lifetime for all who were lucky enough to call Stan a friend. The memories are priceless, his humor comical. Often with well thought out jokes, but occasionally with his “silly one offs”. He will be MISSED Tremendously!
Stan is survived by his three siblings, John (Jack) Molignano & wife, Dorothy (Dotty), Carole Erickson & her husband, John (Jack), & Nancy Molignano. He is pre-deceased by his beloved younger brother, James (Phillip) & his wife, Dawn.
He is also survived by his treasured nieces & nephews, Dawn (Dusty) Molignano, Erika Molignano & her husband, Barry Roland, John (Jackie) Erickson & his wife Heather, Michael Molignano & his wife Jennifer, Daniel Erickson & his fiancé Amanda Brown, Jessica Molignano & her husband Kevin Kohr, Gabriella Molignano & her husband Matteo Avallone, and Kaleigh Jeniski & her husband Matt.
He is also survived by his favorite little people, his grandnieces & nephews; Ava, Daniella & Paddy, Fay & Lilly, Jack & Maggie, Thea, & Bertie,
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday 7/23/2025 from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A - Bicknell Square).
