In Loving Memory of
Susan M. Ciarfella, age 75, of Whitman, passed away unexpectedly on November 9, 2024. Born and raised in Quincy, Susan was the beloved daughter of the late Louis and Anne Marie Ciarfella. She attended Central Junior High and North Quincy High School, where she was known for her lively spirit as a majorette.
A proud Northeastern University Husky, Susan was a true pioneer for women in the field of computing. She served as the computer operations manager for Suffolk Franklin Savings Bank, breaking ground in a field where few women had tread before. Her career continued with distinguished roles as a banking consultant at renowned institutions, including State Street, Arthur D. Little, Geac Computers, and ADS Financial Services.
Susan was a passionate Boston sports fan, holding season tickets for both the Patriots and Celtics, a legacy that dated back to the Red Auerbach era. Her love for Boston sports was as enduring as her spirit, and she treasured cheering on her teams with friends and family.
She had a passion for travel and often looked back fondly on her adventures to Europe, Las Vegas, Hawaii, the Caribbean and Bermuda. She loved living in St. Louis and Los Angeles, making lifelong friends and acting as tour guide to her many visitors, including her parents at the LA Olympics.
Susan leaves behind her cherished siblings, Patricia Keefe and Paul Ciarfella; her brother-in-law Richard Keefe; her sister-in-law Kate Ciarfella; and her beloved niece and nephew, Paul and Erin, who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to gather for visiting hours on Monday, November 18, at 9:30 a.m. at Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, 757 Hancock Street, Quincy with burial at Mount Wollaston Cemetery.
Susan wanted every shelter dog to find a loving home. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her name to MSPCA-Angell, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130
Susan’s kindness, adventurous spirit, and love for her community will be deeply missed. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
