Listen to Obituary

Susan Dennison Flagg, 81, of Hingham, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late William D. Flagg. She was the devoted mother of Cheryl O’Hare and her husband James of Falmouth and Lori Ierardi and her husband Robert of Hingham. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Jessica Martin and her wife Christine, Larry Schelle and his long-term partner Mal, Amanda Andrade and her husband Chris, Hadley Wertenberger, and Kevin and Matt Ierardi. She was an adored great-grandmother to Avery, Elliott, and Callie Martin, Milo and Cody Schelle, and Jeremiah Andrade.

Born in Hull, she is the daughter of the late Leon and Elizabeth Dennison. She is survived by her sister Christine Travelstead of AZ and predeceased by her siblings Jane Whitford, Lee Dennison, Linda White, and Lydia Phillips all of Hull, Ann Lewis of FL, Lois Baker of NY, and Curt Dennison of MO. She will be missed by her large extended family and her friends who she considered family.

She spent many years working at Noble’s Camera Shop in downtown Hingham, where she built lasting friendships and treasured memories. Her happiest moments were spent with family, especially in the places she loved most—Disney World, Nantasket Beach, and Martha’s Vineyard. One of her most cherished adventures was a trip to Hawaii with her beloved Billy.

Susan showed her love through creativity, gifting family members with handmade cross stitch, crocheted pieces, and diamond art. When she wasn’t crafting, she could often be found happily immersed in computer games. She never left anything unsaid and you always knew how she felt and what she thought. She had unwavering love, loyalty, and devotion to those closest to her. Susan will be remembered for her honesty, loyalty, and big hugs. Although she will be sorely missed, we take solace in knowing that she is reunited with the love of her life.

She will be laid to rest at Blue Hills Cemetery in Braintree. No services will be held.
