Obituary

Listen to Obituary

Foley, Susan M. (Dalton) of Weymouth, passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 31, 2026. She was 61 years old.

Born in Weymouth, she was the daughter of William and Hella (Neilson) Dalton. Susan graduated from Weymouth High School and later attended Aquinas College in Milton. She went on to work as a legal secretary, a profession in which she was known for being exceptionally skillful and for doing her work with care and professionalism. For a number of years, she was great at her job and earned the respect of those around her through her reliability, intelligence, and steady presence.

One of the great joys of Susan’s life was the love she shared with Jack, whom she met on a blind date. Their relationship grew into a lasting partnership that spanned 32 years and became a source of deep happiness and companionship. Together, they built a life filled with shared memories, laughter, and devotion.

Susan loved skiing and was good at it. She also loved to travel and found delight in exploring new places and making memories along the way. Among the destinations she especially enjoyed were Bermuda, Niagara Falls, and Disney, each of which held a special place in her heart.

Susan loved being around people and had a natural gift for making others feel welcome and valued. Her home and her heart were open to those she cared about, and she found great happiness in the company of loved ones. Her kindness and friendly nature made her easy to know and impossible to forget. She had a way of bringing comfort and joy to those around her, and her presence will be deeply missed. She especially loved spending time with her son, Jack, who was at the core of everything she did.

Susan also had a deep love of music and enjoyed going to concerts whenever she could. In addition to her love of music, she was artistic and enjoyed working in any medium she could get a hold of. Whether she was painting or practicing calligraphy, Susan expressed herself with creativity and care. Her artistic spirit was yet another reflection of the beauty she brought into the world.

Those who knew Susan will remember her as a woman of great heart, gentle spirit, and genuine warmth. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to share in her life.

Survived by her loving husband John E. Foley, her son, John E. Foley IV, and her mother Hella (Neilson) Dalton. Also survived by many extended family and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday, August 6, 2026 from 8:30-10 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A - Bicknell Square).
