Thomas A. DeNafio Jr.

Thomas A. DeNafio Jr. of Weymouth, died peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was 58.

Tom was born in Quincy on December 6, 1966, and was the son of the late Thomas Sr. and June (Horsman) DeNafio. He was raised in Weymouth, attended local schools and graduated from the Weymouth Vocational Technical High School.

Tom was a community hero, and a devoted resident of Weymouth. He was a hard-working man, and was the kind of person who quietly built a life of meaning through service to others.

For over 30 years, Thomas poured his energy and heart into the Weymouth youth sports community. He was especially known for running the North Weymouth Flag Football League, where he became a mentor, coach, and friend to generations of young athletes. His commitment never wavered — rain or shine, Thomas was there on the field, leading with passion, humility, and a big smile.

His greatest joy came from his family. Thomas never missed a single one of his grandchildren’s games, proudly cheering them on from the sidelines. After the tragic loss of his daughter, he stepped up without hesitation to raise his grandchildren, providing them not only with love and stability, but also with an enduring example of strength, sacrifice, and pride.

Married on March 6, 1993, in Arlington, Thomas was a loyal and selfless husband who shared a deep and abiding love with his wife. He was always the first person to show up when someone needed a hand — whether fixing something around the house (there truly wasn’t anything he couldn’t do), offering support in a moment of crisis, or simply just showing up.

Thomas found solace and joy on the water. He was an avid fisherman and boater, happiest with a line cast and the breeze at his back.

Known to many as "Mr. Fix-It," a community hero, and the rock of his family, Thomas will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, his big heart, and the countless lives he touched along the way.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and selflessness that will live on in the family he cherished, the youth he mentored, and the community he loved.

Thomas was the beloved husband of Kimberly A. DeNafio, with whom he shared 36 loving years. He was the devoted father of Erika DeNafio of Weymouth, Thomas DeNafio III and his partner Shawna Flynn of Hanover, Anthony DeNafio of Weymouth, and the late Amanda DeNafio, and who died in 2016. Tom was the loving Papa of CJ and Julianna Richardi, both of Weymouth, and Thomas DeNafio IV of Hanover. Tom was the dear brother of Dale DeNafio of Weymouth, and Jennifer Millen and her late husband Jeff of Hull. Dear nephew of Dale Horsman Sr and his wife Karen of Pembroke. He is also survived by his loving nephew, nieces, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte. 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Saturday, July 26, 2025, prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Cremation will follow.

Thomas will be interred privately in Old North Cemetery, Weymouth.
