Thomas J. Keefe, Jr.

Thomas J Keefe Jr of Rockland, retired Captain of the Weymouth Fire Dept. passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family on May 22 2025. He was 86 years old.

Born in Cohasset, son of the late Thomas and Sarah Cameron Keefe.

Tom has lived in Rockland for many years. He has participated in many causes and benefits, particularly those involved in children’s sports.He has been an avid baseball player until the age of 80,as well as being inducted into the “ Legends of Baseball” hall of fame in Cooperstown.

Husband of Maureen Vale Keefe.

Father of Thomas P Keefe and his wife Kathleen of Weymouth. Kathleen Arieta and her husband Richard of Kingston. James Keefe and his wife Karen of Plymouth. John Keefe and his wife Julie of Raynham. Stepfather of Robert Wierling and his wife Beth of Franklin. Jennifer Mailhiot of Rockland and the late William Wierling.

Also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Katrina, Jennifer, Richie, Emma, Nick, Thomas Joseph, Jane, Anthony, Allison, Sadie, James, Riain, Lucas, Jessica, Brennan, Quinlan, Carrie, and his cherished great grandchildren, Damon, Ambrose, Henry, Joseph, and Kellen.

Brother of the late Joan Doscher and her late husband Albert, the late Maryann Sacre, the late Michael Keefe, and the late Patrick Keefe and his surviving wife, Judy of Weymouth and also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Toms outstanding qualities of Generosity, Kindness and Humor have touched many lives, but most of all, his compassion and Love, of which he gave Freely.

Tom fought his battle with dementia with dignity, humility and Faith in God. A true Hero, he will be forever remembered and missed.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during visiting hours on Thursday, May 29th, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm in the McDonald Keohane Funeral home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street. ( Route 18, opposite South Shore Hospital.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 30 in St.Francis Xavier Church in South Weymouth at 10 AM
