Thomas "Snuffy"
Kane
Apr 25, 1941 — Jun 5, 2026
Thomas “Snuffy” Kane of East Bridgewater, died June 5, 2026.
The beloved husband of 63 years to Catherine “Cathie” (Hobin) Kane. Loving father of AnnMarie Kane of Holbrook and Thomas Kane and his wife Amy of Kingston. Son of the late Arthur and Mitzi Kane. Brother of the late Arthur and John Kane. Devoted grandfather of Brandon Kane, Amanda Mills, Justin Kane, Brittany McCloud, Cody Murphy, Cassie O’Meara and Ainsley Kane. Cherished great grandfather of Charlotte, Konstanine, Madison, Nolan, Sutton, Isabella, Stella, Connor, Noah, Finley and Bennett. Snuffy is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Snuffy took great pride in his big extended family. He'd tell you that his greatest accomplishments were not the things he achieved, but the people he loved most: his beautiful wife, two children, seven grandchildren and with the biggest smile on his face, his 11 great grandchildren. He also cherished a special 70-year friendship with Barbara and Richie and enjoyed countless memories with his cousins, Dottie and Jacqui.
He spent many years working at John Hancock, where he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of colleagues through his hard work, dedication and larger-than-life personality.
In retirement, Snuffy and Cathie enjoyed spending time in Naples, Florida, creating another chapter filled with sunshine, friendships and family visits. Whether in Massachusetts or Florida, he never met a stranger he wouldn't joke with, and could turn any gathering into an event.
The greatest testament to how deeply he was loved came after his stage VI cancer diagnosis. With only two weeks' notice, a celebration was planned for his 85th birthday, and it had a spectacular turnout of over 80 people who came together to honor him. While he enjoyed life's simple pleasures like watching Disney movies and listening to the oldies, his true greatest joy was undoubtedly his family. A proud United States Army veteran.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Snuffy will be laid to rest in Massachusetts National Cemetery at a later date.
