V. June Libby, a life-long resident of Wollaston, passed away on December 10, 2013.
She was 97 years old. She lived in her childhood home until moving to Tobin Towers over 22 years ago.
Loving wife of the late Orlando V. Libby, Devoted mother of Nancy, Norma and David Libby all of Wollaston, Beloved grandmother of Jenei Ocean Samhadanah and her husband, Hatem; and great grandmother to Solana Ocean, all of North Quincy. She was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Violet (Thorne) Porter and brother, Norbert.
She graduated from Quincy High School in 1936. She was a dedicated homemaker; a professional baker and seamstress; Girl and Boy Scout leader; avid reader and bicycle rider.
She was employed with Zayre’s as a jewelry department manager. June was also employed with Marriott Corp for over 20 years as their corporate baker and cake decorator at Prudential and Federal Reserve Bank locations. In her later years, she traveled to Europe twice, fulfilling a life-long dream to visit Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. She had a zest fof life and a wonderful sense of humor.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Saturday December 14th from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM followed by her funeral service in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, at 11:00 AM Private burial will be held at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
