Violetta Pesiridis, 98, of Quincy, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Yanni Pesiridis. Together, they were longtime residents of Quincy. Violetta was born on March 12, 1927, in Evia, Greece, to Triantafilo and Maria Triantafilou. She was the third of seven children. On October 31, 1965, she immigrated to the United States with her husband and daughters in pursuit of a better life. A devoted homemaker, Violetta was known for her exceptional cooking, intricate loom work, and boundless love for her family. She crafted beautiful wool blankets and rugs and worked in local shoe factories to help provide for her family after arriving in America. In her later years, she took great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. To those who knew her best, Violetta will be remembered for her sharp wit, unshakable strength, deep-rooted values, and above all, her loving and generous heart. She is survived by her daughter Maria Papathanasiou and her grandchildren: Demetri, Violet, and Yanni Papathanasiou, and Vicki Labonte. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Keira and Scarlett Labonte. She is also lovingly remembered by her daughters: Love Kouvlis, Effie and Nick Papaconstandinou, and Sandy Emmanouilidis. Violetta was a proud grandmother to George and Mahi Kouvlis, Spiro and Cornelia Kouvlis, Kostas and Georgia Papaconstandinou, and George and Yanni Emmanouilidis. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Agapi and Sofia Kouvlis, and Apollo and Serenity Papaconstandinou. Violetta is also survived by her brother Anastasios Triantafilou of Evia, Greece, along with many nieces and nephews in both Greece and the United States.
May her memory be eternal. May she find peace and joy in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visitation on Thursday July 24, 2025 from 10-11am in St. Catherine Greek Orthodox Church, 119 Common St., Braintree, followed by a Funeral Service at 11am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Donations in memory of Violetta may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN or St. Catherine’s Greek Orthodox Church, 119 Common Street., Braintree, MA 02184.
