Virginia Pillard

Virginia (Ginny) M. (Hasson) Pillard, age 84 of Quincy (formerly of South Boston, Dorchester and Rockwood Maine) passed away peacefully at home in Quincy on July 27, 2025. Ginny attended St. Augustine’s school in South Boston as well as Boston Business School.

Ginny was preceded in death by her husband Jean and son Jeff as well as her parents William and Ruth Hasson, and siblings John, Marie, Eileen, Ruth, Billy, Margie and Ethel. She is survived by her devoted sons Jean (Gino) and his wife Kathie of Niwot, CO, Jay and his wife Jean of Pembroke, MA and daughter-in-law Molly of Medway, MA. Ginny will be especially missed by her six grandchildren Jason, Kylie, Jared, Jillian, Jamie and Justin and many loving nieces, nephews and friends both near and far.

Although Ginny was born and raised in South Boston and was a city girl through and through, she also found solace at the family home in Rockwood, ME. Wherever Ginny went she made lifelong friends and will forever be remembered for having the “gift of gab! “

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday 8/3/2025 from 2-5 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Monday 8/4/2025 prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne will be held on 8/5/2025 at 10:45 AM and is open to all, but we understand travel can be difficult during the summer.
