Virginia L. Schoen, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025, at the age of 79.
Ginny was the beloved wife of the late Luther Leland Schoen, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. She was a loving mother who dedicated her life to her sons, Brian Schoen and his wife Donna of New York, and Travis Schoen of East Weymouth. She was also the grandmother to her beloved “sweetie pies” Georgia and Griffin Schoen, and Gillian Baez and her husband Joseph. Ginny's love extended to her late siblings, Neil, Peter, Robert, John, Doug, Carol, William, and Michael MacIntyre. She shared a special bond with her sister-in-law and best friend, Marianne MacIntyre. Her extended family of nieces and nephews also held a dear place in her heart.
Professionally, Ginny was a respected figure at North Fork Bank and North Fork Press, where she served as an office manager for many years. Ginny's nurturing nature was not just confined to her home; she was the heart of her family-a devoted mother whose love, strength, and unwavering support shaped the lives of her children and all who knew her. Ginny was a pioneer woman, in every sense of the word, she faced life’s challenges with grit, grace, and unwavering faith. Guided by her deep belief in God, she met every day with strength, a sharp sense of humor, and a laugh that could lift any spirit. Her joyful heart and enduring spirit were a gift to all who knew her.
Ginny's interests were as vibrant as her personality. She had a passion for karaoke, where her voice and presence would light up any room. An avid viewer of the Hallmark Channel, she enjoyed indulging in heartwarming stories and her love for reading was known to all, as she was rarely seen without a book in hand.
