Wayne Douglas Whitcomb

Wayne Douglas Whitcomb, of Hingham, formerly of Pembroke, passed away suddenly on August 7, 2025 having achieved all of his goals. He was 76 years old.

Wayne’s primary focus in life was to be a loving and providing husband to his wife of 35 years, Janet (Kaszuba). When not sitting with her on the deck watching the hummingbirds or filling her car up with gas, Wayne enjoyed visiting yard sales and the Hingham Swap Shop thoughtfully searching for items to give to friends and family. He loved music, learning about antiques, and playing games with his children and grandchildren.

Wayne honorably enlisted in the Army and was deployed to Vietnam, where he was lowered from medivac helicopters to rescue the injured. The skills he learned later in his service prepared him for a rewarding 20+ year career as a Dental Technician with Aspen Dental. At Aspen, he met many wonderful people who became chosen family.

Loving father of Ryan Whitcomb of Quincy, MA, Joseph Whitcomb of Buxton, ME, Justin Whitcomb of Westminster, MA, Kyle Whitcomb and his wife, Jessica Rubinstein, of Foxboro, MA, and the late Brett Whitcomb.

Caring Stepfather to Mark Germain and his wife, Dawn, of Middleboro, MA, and Jennifer Germain, of Framingham, MA.

Brother of Ronald Whitcomb and his wife, Loye, of Jewett City, CT, and the late Craig Whitcomb.

Wayne is survived by his many loving grandchildren.

He was overjoyed to get to spend 9 visits with 4 week old Benji Douglas, who shares his middle name.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during visitation from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM on Friday 8/15 at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:30 AM

Burial and Military Honors will conclude at Village Cemetery 339 Washington St , Weymouth MA.
