William Michael Comer, of Pembroke, formerly of Hingham, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on September 18, 2026. He was 91.

Bill was born and raised in Dorchester to the late John and Catherine (Mullin) Comer and attended Cathedral High School. Upon graduating he enlisted in the United States Army where he served as an MP in the Korean War. Once he returned, he married the love of his life, Margaret, in 1956. They started their family in Braintree and later moved to the home they built in Hingham.

Bill was proud of the career he built as an electrical contractor. He opened Comer Electric where he was admired for his hard work and respected by his employees. After a long career he retired to Englewood, Florida where he golfed and had time to go to the movies. Throughout his life, he also spent many summers on Nantucket with family and friends.

In his later years he enjoyed puzzling, daily word games, watching sports, and never passed on a sweet treat. Bill (Papa) will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Bill was the beloved husband of the late Margaret (Touhey) Comer.

Loving father of William Comer, Jr., Ann Comer, Carol Hobin (Tom), Mary Capuzzo (John), Joan Comer, Patti Simms (Bill), Kevin Comer, Brian Comer, and Meg Comer.

Brother of John “Jake” Comer, Patricia Comer, James Comer and the late Thomas Comer, Imelda Gemmel, Mary “Terry” Pecevich, and sister-in-law Mary Touhey.

Grandfather of TJ, Bridget, and Grace Hobin; Jenna, Kristen, and Brendan Capuzzo; Matthew, Michael, Stephenson, and Liam Simms; Christopher Comer; Caitlyn, Megan, and Mitchell Comer; and Diana Comer.

He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during visiting hours on Wednesday, September 23rd from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, 809 Main Street, South Weymouth (Route 18 opposite South Shore Hospital).

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 24th in St. Christine's Church, 1295 Main Street, Marshfield at 10:30 AM.

Burial and Military Honors will follow in Couch Cemetery, Marshfield.
