Gardner, William K. of Hingham, formerly of Quincy, passed away on January 26, 2026. Bill was born in Quincy to the late Mary and Kenneth Gardner. Bill and his late wife Jackie raised their family in Quincy. Most recently, Bill was a retired Quincy firefighter for 20 years, previously working as a postman for the Quincy Post Office. As a man who would stay fit and healthy, you could often see Bill out for a walk enjoying the sunshine. Bill loved to stay active and it was rare he would miss a day at the gym.
Beloved husband of 55 years to the late Jacqueline A. Gardner. Loving father of William K. Gardner Jr. and his wife Diane of Mansfield, Stephen Gardner and his wife Eileen of North Easton and Michael Gardner and his wife Debbie of Marshfield. Dear brother of Claire Harkins of Hingham and the late Robert "Bob" Gardner and brother in law of Pauline Colton, Anthony Colton and his wife Marjorie, David Colton and his husband Brian and Mary Gardner. Cherished Papa of 8 grandchildren; Ashley and her husband Mike, Lexi, Billy, Zachary, Peyton, Michael, Joey and James. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and his canine companion Millie.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday 2/3/2026 from 9:30-10:15 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. For those who will not be able to attend Bill’s visitation, please visit this page after the visitation has been held for a recorded viewing. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:15 AM on Tuesday 2/3/2026 prior to the Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Quincy at 11 AM.
