Obituary

Listen to Obituary

William "Gouldie" Gould of Weymouth passed away on May 23, 2026 after a courageous battle with ALK Stage Four Lung Cancer. Loving son, brother, cousin, grandson and friend.

Born in Quincy Bill was the oldest son of Elsa and the late William Gould and the first grandson of the late Bridget and William Gould. Dear brother of Kathleen, Robert and Joseph all of Weymouth.

Loving grandchild of the late Olga and Peter Bernacchi, cousin to John and Laura , Marc and Alyson Bernacchi, Anthony, Jeanmarie, Peter, David, Ross and Bryan. Godson of the late Alba Gouldthorpe and the late Tom Donovan.

Proud graduate of Weymouth Voch Tech Class of 1986 and continued his education at Blue Hill Regional Technical School. For over thirty years Bill worked in the automotive industry more recently at NAPA Auto in Holbrook where he enjoyed working with Papa Rudy Alterio. Bill was a dear friend to the Burke, Chella and Davis families.

He enjoyed time with his family, trips to Maine, all sports but especially the Buffalo Bills football team and believed every year was going to be their year.

Bill enjoyed going to concerts in his younger days and loved the music of Elvis and Neil Diamond.

After the loss of his Dad at a young age he became the head of household. He was Mr. Fix it, took care of the lawn and snow removal and took care of our cars as best as he could. Bill was always there to help his family and friends.

As a youngster he was involved with Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Weymouth Farm League. One of his first jobs was selling subscriptions to the Patriot Ledger.

Bill will be dearly missed by his family, friends and neighbors.

We want to thank his visiting nurse Erin from Bayada of Plymouth. She took wonderful care of him this year.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Elvis has left the building.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday 6/3/2026 from 10-11:30 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So.
