William "Bill" Hall

William “Bill” Hall of Milton, passed away after a valiant battle against cancer on Thursday, October 30, 2025. He was 62.

He was born in Boston, to Elizabeth Hall and raised in Quincy. After graduating from Quincy High School, he took some classes at Quincy Junior College. Eventually, Bill pursued his passion for landscape design and founded his own business, Landscaping by Hall. His growing success led to many visits to a local bank, visits that soon became daily, thanks to Nancy (Mellyn). What began as routine trips blossomed into a lifelong partnership, and together they shared 37 wonderful years filled with adventure.

Summers were spent at their beloved home on the Cape, and winters at their cozy house in New Hampshire. Bill’s adventurous spirit never waned. There was always a mountain to climb, a trail to explore, or a beach to wander. At home, he found joy in tending the yard and creating beautiful landscapes. Even as his health declined, Bill and Nancy continued to take rides throughout New England, exploring Ponkapoag, visiting Houghton’s Pond, and discovering new places together.

Bill will be remembered for his boundless curiosity, fun-loving nature, and unwavering zest for life.

Beloved husband to Nancy Hall (Mellyn) of Milton. Cherished son to the late Elizabeth Hall. Devoted son-in-law to Arthur Mellyn and the late Norma. Loving brother-in-law to Susan, Kevin and Kim, Kathy, Debbie, Peter, and David and Simone. Bill is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 10:30 AM in East Congregational UCC, 610 Adams Street, Milton. Cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s name may be made to the Appalachian Mountain Club.
