William “Bill” Michaud, of Weymouth, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026, after a brief illness, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 78 years old.

William was born in Boston on October 25, 1947, to the late Paul and Evelyn Michaud-Campitelli . After the loss of his father, Bill was fortunate to have his stepfather,Vincenzo Campitelli, stepped in to help raise Bill and his sister Patricia. Raised in Quincy, Bill graduated from North Quincy High School with the Class of 1966. Following high school, he worked at Boston Gear Works before answering the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Navy. During his time in the Navy, Bill served aboard the SSC Robin, a submarine based out of New London, Connecticut.

During his service in the Navy, Bill married the love of his life, Lynn, and together they made their home in Braintree, where they raised their two sons, Peter and Michael.

Bill started his career with the International Union of Elevator Constructors, Local 4 in Boston. He started with F.S. Payne then transition to management where he finished his 47 year career as General Sales Manager at Atlantic Elevator. He had a way with people, a sharp mind, and the confidence to always stand behind what he believed.

While Bill took great pride in his work, his family was always at the center of his life. He worked hard to provide a wonderful life for his family. He and Lynn especially cherished the home they had in Florida, where they spent many vacations together, creating the lifelong memories that Bill treasured.

Bill loved traveling throughout the country in their RV, discovering new places, camping, golfing, and, most of all, spending time with his family. His greatest joy came from being surrounded by those he loved, especially his grandchildren, who held a very special place in his heart.

Those who knew Bill will remember him for being a character in the very best sense of the word. He was stubborn, independent, and never afraid to see things his own way. He loved history, loved a good conversation, and was always ready to share his opinion. He was a hardworking man, and someone who could talk to anyone and, more often than not make a friend.

But beneath that strong personality was a man with an enormous heart and an unwavering devotion to his family. His greatest legacy will not be the years he spent working, but the love he shared with Lynn, the values he passed on to his sons, and the memories he leaves with his children, grandchildren, family, and friends

William will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. Beloved husband of the late Lynn M. (Cappola) Michaud . Loving Father of Peter W. Michaud and his wife, Carol, of Whitman, and Michael J. Michaud and his wife, Lisa, of Holbrook. Brother of Patricia Michaud, of Naples FL. Cherished Papa to Emily, Peter Jr, Carly, and Myah and his beloved dog Buddy.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 9/3/2026 from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:00 AM on Friday 9/4/2026 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
