William Francis “Bill” O'Connor, passed away on March 7, 2026. He was 81.
Born and raised in Roxbury on Alaska Street in Boston, he was the son to the late William and Helen (Murphy) O’Connor.
Bill proudly served in the Air Force as a young man, an experience that meant a great deal to him. While serving, he met his wife, Lynn, in Iowa. The two shared 62 years of marriage together.
Bill enjoyed photography, music, and spending time outdoors, especially in warm weather or at the beach. He liked to sit outside with his dogs and watch the world go by. He also enjoyed keeping up with the news.
Those who knew Bill remember him as loving, kind, and funny. He had an easygoing nature, a good sense of humor, and rarely complained. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, who will remember him for his warmth and the simple joy he brought to everyday life.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday, March 15, 2026 from 3-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street) with a brief service starting at 3 PM. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bill and his dog Coco may be made to Scituate Animal Shelter, 780 Chief Justice Cushing Hwy, Scituate, MA 02066.
