Obituary

Listen to Obituary

Duane took the greatest pride in being a father. A devoted New England sports fan, he enthusiastically supported all four Boston teams, with a special love for the Bruins and the Red Sox. He passed his passion for hockey on to his son, Sean.

In addition to following sports, Duane enjoyed camping, taking cruises, attending Red Sox spring training, and making trips to Las Vegas. He proudly served his country in the Air Force for 28 years and later worked for Quincy Elder Services, where he continued his commitment to helping others.

Duane was predeceased by his late loving wife Maryellen Slattery. He was the beloved son of the late Paul Slattery and the late Mary (Hudson) Slattery. He is survived by his son, Sean, as well as many brothers and a sister-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will cherish his memory.

He will be remembered for his dedication to family, his service to his country, and the joy he found in sharing his interests and adventures with those he loved.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 6/22/2026 from 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday 6/23/2026 at 11 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. See www.Keohane.com for directions and online condolences.
