Mary L. Dentino

Mary L. (Mele) Dentino, age 96, of Braintree, formerly of Plymouth, Weymouth, and South Boston, on January 27, in the presence of her loving family, went peacefully home to God and into the waiting arms of her husband, Sam and her parents, Orazio and Eleanora.

Mary will remain forever in the hearts of her children, Linda Muldoon and her husband Robert of Braintree and Robert Dentino and his wife Jean of Plymouth.  Mary will always be the treasured Nana of Cara Youden of Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia; Kathleen Johnson and her husband Daniel of Weymouth; and Lianne Bollinger and her husband Parker of Washington, DC. She was also the very special “Great Nana Mary” of Hope, Liam, Patrick, Sam, and Eliza Youden, of Benjamin Johnson, and of Jack and Leo Bollinger.   “Auntie Mary” will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews as well as her extended family and friends of all ages.  Mary was predeceased by her sister Dolores and her brother George.

After graduating from secretarial school, Mary worked for several years for the General Services Administration.  Her excellent organizational skills served her well there and later in the role she relished the most, as homemaker.  Her family and her home were her pride and joy.

We celebrate Mary for her beautiful smile, her skills as a homemaker and a cook (oh, that eggplant parm and those pizzelles!), and especially for her unique ability to touch the hearts of family, old friends, and new acquaintances with her care and compassion, her generosity and kindness, and her wit and wisdom.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Mary’s Funeral Mass will be by invitation only, but will be livestreamed on this page. Burial will be private.

In memory of Mary, please tell someone today that you love them.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to further the mission of the Pat Roche Hospice House, 86 Turkey Hill Lane, Hingham, MA  02043.

Normally, the funeral is an opportunity for the community to gather in support of one another. For those unable to gather together with Mary’s family at this time, friends may still offer their support by sharing a special memory or message by clicking the link above.
