Jacquelyn Ann “Jackey” Dunn

Jacquelyn Ann Dunn (“Jackey”), 73, of Weymouth MA succumbed at home April 6, 2021 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Jackey was born May 15, 1947 in Boston to parents Barbara and Walter Charboneau. Early in her childhood Jackey moved to Braintree, where she grew a deep love and lifelong camaraderie with her siblings Mickey, Dolores and Alan, as well as met her first love and future husband LeRoy Alden Dunn (“Sonny”).

Jackey and Sonny married February 17, 1968, and soon after started raising a family in their Weymouth house where they lived the rest of their days. They had three sons: LeRoy Jr. (“Sonny Jr.”), Gregory and Thomas (“TJ”). Jackey was a working mom who made personal sacrifices throughout her life to enable her husband and children to pursue their passions and dreams.

Everyone loved her, and she loved everyone. Jackey would always go out of her way for friends and her extended Charboneau and Dunn families. She was universally known for her positive attitude, kindness, sense of humor and being a diehard Red Sox and Patriots fan. Jackey could walk into a crowd and make everyone happy with a statement that got everyone laughing.

In addition to spending time with her family, Jackey’s favorite pastimes included reading, playing cards, and worrying.

After her kids got older Jackey went back to school with fellow student and sister Dolores Bell to earn a degree from Quincy College, then eventually retired from Stop & Shop corporate.

Throughout the years TJ and his first love and wife Tiffany stayed local to the Greater Boston area. Jackey (“Nannie”) was fortunate to be able to spend lots of time caring for her grandchildren Julia, Chloe, Matthew and Andrew.

Jackey enjoyed traveling, including many adventures to places such as New Hampshire, Maine, New York, Las Vegas, Chicago, San Francisco, Atlantic City, Foxwoods and the Bahamas.

Although her sons Sonny and Greg eventually moved to Florida, Jackey was able to enjoy many visits to the Sunshine State for beach, boating, dinners, and countless other special moments with her sons, daughter-in-law Armina and grandsons Ian and Alden.

Jackey always held a special place in her heart for her big brother Al Charboneau, her sisters, and her in-laws Jack Bell and Moe Charboneau. She especially cherished her trips to the casinos with her sisters and brother, with lots of love and many laughs. Later in life, even after Sonny had long passed away, Jackey was fortunate to have her trusted roommate and sister Mickey Cappola living with her until the end.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-5 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).
