Marie J. (Grenon) DeMita, a 60 year resident of Rockland, formerly of Boston, died February 21, 2021 at the age of 83.

Marie enjoyed boating with her husband and family. She treasured her friendships at the YMCA and with her group of movie friends. She also enjoyed bowling, ice skating, Bingo and the occasional Blue Bunny Ice Cream. Marie worked at the Marge Crispin Center in Braintree for many years and retired in 2002.

Wife of the late Robert J. DeMita. Loving mother of Karin DeMita of Rockland; and Kevin MeMita and his wife Deb of NH. Devoted “Rie Rie” of Danny DeMita. Sister of the late Gene Grenon and Robert Grenon. Best friend of 65 years to Mary Murphy of Rockland. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2/28/21 from 2-5 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Holy Family Church, Rockland at 9AM. Burial in Holy Family Cemetery, Rockland.

Normally, the funeral is an opportunity for the community to gather in support of one another. For those unable to gather together with Marie’s family at this time, friends may still offer their support by sharing a special memory or message by clicking the link above.
