Pamela Kathryn Griffin

On Sunday, February 21, 2021, Mrs. Pamela Kathryn Griffin, beloved wife of the late Raymond Griffin, passed away peacefully from COVID-19 at the age of 84 after saying goodbye to her loved ones.

Pam was born in Brooklyn, the first child of Mildred and Walter Horn. After graduating from the College of St. Elizabeth in Convent Station NJ, she taught at Curtis High School on Staten Island and married Ray in 1962. Together they raised two children in Stewart Manor, NY.

Pam never had an unkind word for anyone and was quick to laugh and gather with friends for a martini or a great meal that she prepared.   Pam was active in community affairs and the church.  After Ray’s death in 2007, Pam continued as an Archives Librarian at Adelphi University where she worked for over 25 years. She moved to Hingham, MA in 2017 to be closer to family.

Pam doted on her grandchildren, nieces and nephews and always stayed in close touch with her dear friends.  Pam is survived by a loving family.  Her daughter Kathy Morrissey and husband John of Hingham, MA, grandchildren James, Jack and Shea. Her son John Griffin and wife Courtney of Cary, NC, grandchildren William and Thomas.  Her brother Walter “Woody” Horn and his wife Jane of Garden City, NY.  Four loving nieces and nephews and their families.

There will be masses said in Pam’s honor at St. Anne’s Church, Garden City NY on March 23th at 9 am.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Linden Ponds Resident Care Fund, 203 Linden Ponds Way, Hingham MA 02043.
