Condolences to the Family of Matthew Thomas Kost

2016

We were very sorry to hear about Matt. Although we had limited personal contact with him, we enjoyed those times. I apologize for the tardy response, but we were experiencing our own tragedy with my sister Deb. Please accept our sincere condolences.

We send my condolences and love to the family of Matthew Kost. We remember him growing up in Oneonta NY. He was a good friend of our daughter Kaylynn who remembers him well. We are sorry for your loss. Taylor and Suzanne Hollist

Many prayers to all the family and friends of this great person. Matt was a kind and supportive "big brother" to all the neighborhood kids growing up. I can think of many times where Matt was looking out for us younger kids and his beloved sister Jocelyn, trying to keep us safe and out of trouble. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very sad time. May you find peace in the loving support around you and the knowing that there are two beautiful angels together watching over and protecting all if those they loved the most!

Janel, Ryan and Haylee, I am so very sorry for your loss as your husband/father was such a wonderful man. In many ways, Matt was larger than life and he filled so many of my memories of him with laughter. I will miss him and hope you will find peace in the many thoughts and prayers of all the people who benefited from his wonderful sense of humor and smile. Rest in peace my friend.

Matt was my roommate throughout our college years. Lovingly known to his friends as Krusty, he was a favorite of everyone who met him. Jovial, friendly, gregarious, trustworthy, loyal - there are a lot of superlatives to describe him - Matt was always quick with a laugh and knew how to light up a room. It was a privilege to spend those formative years with him and our group of friends. Thinking back on those times always brings a smile, and Matt was a big part of so many of those memories. Being in different cities after college, we didn't see each other as much as I would have liked, but seeing him and his family always had a big impact on me whenever we did find the time. Matt was truly one of the all-time great guys that I have known. He did not deserve this fate and his far too premature end will be one of the great tragedies of my life. I'm sure I speak for many that our wonderful memories of him will endure, and he will never be forgotten. My heart really aches for the whole family, Janel, Ryan, Hailey, Mr. & Mrs. Amitrano, Mr. & Mrs. Kost, Mr. & Mrs. Clague, Nicole, Chris, Lindsay and Kevin. I wish that you will be able to find some peace after this ordeal and hope you can find some solace knowing how many people loved and cared for Matt.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I knew Matt from High School; he was always smiling, and everyone's friend. Such a good good soul that loved life and his family dearly. My thoughts are with you.

Matt, or Kosty as I and a couple of dozen others knew him, was a dear friend who I spoke with almost every day for nearly 20 years. He was a founding father of a group of University of Massachusetts sports fans whose only care was that the state U. enjoy success. He was an integral part of my life for nearly two decades and a person who I will never, ever forget. I was lucky enough to spend time with him in person on a few occasions, even though our virtual friendship was more permanent than many others in my life. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to call him friend. Kosty--I will miss you, brother.
