Condolences to the Family of John J. Benson

2020

Such a great man...sometimes tough as nails but one of the most softest and caring guys you could meet. Once you knew him you could see all his kindness and good he promoted. He was a really great man and I will always remember him and laugh about all the good times I had with Jackie and him who I always called affectionately called him "SAUL"! He is truly a great part of North Weymouth's history and will not be forgotten.

Our condolences to the Benson family. Mr. Benson was always so good to my family growing up in North Weymouth. I was on his first sponsored North Weymouth Little League team Benson's "ESSO" and remember him getting a standing ovation at the annual Little League banquet when he was introduced. He also let my classmates and I wait inside his gas station while we waited for the school bus on Bridge St. during those cold winter mornings. Rest in Peace, such a great life he had. Sincerely, Tony Castagnozzi

We are greatly saddened by the news of “Uncle John’s” passing! He was a very loving and caring Family Man! Our deepest sympathy to Barbara ,Leslie and Jackie and their families. We are Blessed with so many wonderful memories and stories from Uncle John! He prepared all year for The Easter Egg Hunt and enjoyed it as much as all the kids did! He beamed with Pride when Michelle asked him to be her sponsor for Her Confirmation! He touched so many lives and I am sure He is at Peace in Heaven! Love Elaine ,Tommy and Michelle
