What a beautiful Mass and celebration of Mr. Mitchell's life. I was so happy to be able to view this. Great job, Jack, of sharing who your Dad was in life...So many years knowing Mr Mitchell.... talks on the porch with his funny stories or history lessons. Always welcoming. Always happy to see me. Your Dad was a Gentleman.. Sorry for your loss and the community's loss.Peace to you all.

That was nice walk down memory lane. Bill was a great guy, I enjoyed the time I spent with him, he was always good for a laugh. When I commented on how he was looking younger every time I saw him, he'd whisper he takes a shot of embalming fluid very now and then. He's in good hands. My thoughts and prayers to you all.

We have lost a special neighbor and friend. He always had a smile, joke or special memory he was willing to share, Jim and I will miss seeing him in the yard or the front porch. He has left us but gone to join others who wanted to embrace him. He will be missed but the memories we have of him will last a lifetime, Betty Ann; Kathy; Jackie and Joey and family he was so proud of all of you and everything you did for him;

Rest in peace Billy, you wonderful man. You and your lovely wife, Irene, were two of the nicest and friendliest people to ever grace a Main Street porch. The Mitchell family will forever hold an important place in the colorful history of Hull Village. It was a privilege to have known you.

Dear Betty Ann, Kathy and Jackie, I am very sad to hear about Mr. Mitchell. Such a wonderful man and a grand family! I will certainly miss sitting on the rocker talking with him. Just viewed the picture video you put together, so wonderful to have all those pictures. He was always smiling! That's how I remember him, smiling! Back in the days, at St. Mary's of the Bay, passing the box, smiling, always a kind word to say. Such a wonderful father to all of you and a wonderful husband! You all took such great care of him, keeping him in his home. It's always hard to lose a parent, but, I think, even harder when they are graced with longevity. You think they will go on forever. Seeing the picture of the flag at half staff at the playground, made me cry. So glad it was dedicated while he could appreciate the honor. Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers as well as Mr. Mitchell. However, I expect he had an express trip straight to Heaven! He is with God, Irene, Marie, and Peggy. Much love to all of you. Dottie Stevens Sullivan

We lived across from Mr and Mrs Mitchell for many years and could always count on seeing them sitting on their front porch in their rocking chairs. When you saw Mr. Mitchell starting to trim his famous hedges in late May, you saw the pride he took in his home. Like the hedges, you could also count on the white and pink flowers in their flower boxes. He was a great neighbor and always had a smile on his face. We had many chats on the front steps over the years about our kids, his family or just life in general. His smiling face at Pyne Keohane made it just a bit easier for you if you were there for services for a loved one. We will miss seeing him siting on his porch. Sending loving thoughts to his family .

We are sad that another icon of the Village has passed away. The memories of sitting in the rocking chair on his porch on a bright sunny day, listening to his stories of the "old days" in the Village will never fade. It was like reading "Old Nantasket" by Doc Bergan. So many people would either drive or walk by to say "Hi, Mr. Mitchell", and he knew everyone of them. He was a true gentleman and a class act. Not many of those left. God Bless you Billy and God Bless your family. We'll keep the grass cut for you at the cemetary.
