Coat Drive

Coat Drive

December 16, 2012

Throughout the month of November we held our first coat drive, encouraging people to clean out their closets and drop off any gently worn coats that they were willing to donate to those in need. We weren’t sure what to expect, and set an initial goal of 250 coats.

It’s amazing how generous people can be, and how willing to help other organizations are. Dependable Cleaners graciously offered to clean all of the coats collected, which was a huge help. We also worked with several organizations to get them delivered to children and adults in need. Coats were distributed to the Interfaith Social Services in Quincy as well as the Weymouth Youth and Family Services in Weymouth and Wellspring Multi-Service Center in Hull.

Everyone at Keohane was astounded by the generosity of the community, and thrilled to exceed our initial goal. We’re excited to make this an annual Keohane event!
